I know you think this is funny or trivial, but do you really think such
things don't force executives to make product line-level decisions?
Remember Allaire getting purchased by Macromedia? Do you know what happens
when board members and stockholders (and stockholders' lawyers) demand
profit in the face of a major net worth loss like this? Do you have any
idea how many major companies at this very moment are having exploratory
meetings regarding the potential purchase of all or part of Macromedia
because it can suddenly be purchased at a much, much cheaper price than it
could even yesterday, and because it will most likely take a long time to
regain the ground just lost? Do you have any idea how many top-level
Macromedia executives are nervously meeting late at night tonight discussing
potential product line changes (abandoning, selling, combining)?

Neither do I, but it is something to think about.

This just came out over the wires:

NEW YORK, Dec. 13 Shares of Macromedia Inc.(NASDAQ:MACR) on Thursday
tumbled nearly 27 percent after analysts cut their outlooks on the maker
of Web designing software following a warning that it would miss its
fiscal third quarter outlook and does not expect to turn a profit by the
end of its fiscal year.

Just a little "heads up" for everyone.
