First, let me say I love Salisbury Steak. I thank Maryland for that. Now, on to the review. I like the large pictures of the food. However, on 800x600, almost half is cut off by the bottom of the window.
I like the large red/gradient bar at the top. Not sure if I like the choice of gray. However, the red lines under the main nav links mess with my eyes. It appears that I'm getting some sort of after-image with dirty eyeglasses. I had to get right up next to the monitor to see the smaller gradient. I would probably remove the line under the links or make it a solid color. I like the yellow text, but the fact that we are close to Halloween makes me wonder about the blood flowing into the goblet. I don't see any other yellow areas on the page that make it appear that yellow is a primary color for the site. I do see a lot of white. What if, instead of red wine, you used white wine and "market street inn" was all white text? I also assume that you won't have blocks of black laying on top of the dark grey. On to the second-level pages. I'm getting a bit tired of dashed lines and borders. That's just me. I like the solid yellow line more than the dashed white line. The "rotating" images, on the secondary pages, are nice. Not too heavy or distracting, and add value to the pages. I'm not too sure about the gray > light gray gradient at the bottom of the page. The left navigation links, when hovered, show a solid-edge rectangle. The four links "contact us|faqs|etc" show some sort of yellow cloud. I would prefer consistency. I like how, on the secondary pages, you repeat the "theme" of yellow text followed by red text, for the page "title". Overall, I really like the site.
