Metairie was luckier than New Orleans. We had good levee building codes established and none broke on the west side of the city. We did have street flooding because the parish president sent the pumping station operators 60 miles north and they could not get back in to start the pummps for 3 days. > >Have yourself a good cry it makes you feel better :) I did that when I got home the nght we moved.
