The worst case political tripe from a musician, was from a band called "Pain
of Salvation". They were scheduled to appear on several stops on this
summer's "Gigantour" (Megadeth, Anthrax, Nevermore, Dream Theater in an
Ozfest style tour) Gigantour played to packed ampitheaters across the US.

It was huge for the smaller bands that played it. Their singer, who'd been
known for his political "commentary" (bascially he'd bash the US any chance
he got) Pulled the band off the tour in protest because the US had started
fingerprinting foreign nationals as they came into the US.

So with his protest he shot is band in their collective feet and lost them
one of the biggest promotional opportunites they were likely to get.

To be fair, I don't mind the political statements *in* the music.
That's fine, I just don't like when you go to a concert and have to
listen to preaching onstage, much like what the Dixie Chicks did. Don't
ask me why it's OK one way, but not the other. I know it doesn't make
much sense,...
