The underlying question is whether the Niger story was real or not. We now know that Libya had a WMD program and I think had discussed purchasing yellowcake from Niger. It seems that the underlying facts could be true, only the documents were forgeries.
This whole story is a lot like the Martha Stewart case. No one is sure there was even an underlying crime, it's all about what happened during the investigation of the crime. That doesn't make it right, and it now looks like Scooter may be travelling Air Fed to his next destination. I don't know about Rove. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
