My sister lived in Vancouver for a few years and I loved it! It was a great place to visit for a few weeks at a time. I wouldn't want to live there though. The islands are another story... Wow. Mom is in Ladysmith and it's lovely, quaint... And not entirely too far from Victoria.
I have spent a lot of time out East (Ottawa / Montreal) and I prefer it... Ottawa is a lovely place, and a short drive to lovely places you can hike or ski or boat and such... Depending on the season. A person would never understand the reason Canada has a red maple leaf on its' flag until they have seen the hills out there completely alive with the maple leaves turning colour in the fall. Manitoba and Saskatchewan are generally regarded as the armpits in Canada... But I think they are lovely provinces... Enough population to 'have stuff'... But we aren't crowded or polluted. -----Original Message----- From: Larry C. But there's not a lot that goes on there otherwise unless you work in a resource industry. Places like Vancouver (think the DC area just more polite) and Victoria are really nice. But the Islands are great. If I could swing it I'd be living on Salt Spring Island. The downside to lotus land on the left coast is its a very active area in terms of earthquakes etc. If you want stable without any of that you look at places like Manitoba or Saskatchewan. larry On 10/27/05, Tony <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > color me wrong, if i am but, i wouldnt feel too safe on a mountain. > > arent mountains the result of uplifting fault lines? > arent mountains where mudslides happen? > > dont get me wrong, im seriously considering a move to BC, but i wouldnt > count my chickens that quick > > tw > > On 10/27/05, Jillian Koskie <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > A lot of people complain about living in mid-western Canada (I am in > > Saskatchewan)...
