Was it just me or did yesterday's "Smallville" suck (and no, pun not intended - it wasn't worth it).
S P O I L E R S I mean WTF is going on? So Zod is teaching community college? He's "Good"... no, he's evil... but only to Lex? Jor El is bad... but maybe not? "Lex" is evil... then good, then evil then whatever? Chloe is still the only one who shows any interest in Journalism (although we all know that Clark and Lois are both "supposed" get there) and is, in fact given a job for a "news" article full of valley girl slang and personal anecdotes? (I know I'm supposed to suspend disbelief... but that article getting anybody a job at a major newspaper. Flying farm-boys I believe, that I can't.) So we'll have what, three star reporters from the same town working at the same news desk? Fact is we still don't know what either Clark or Lois are studying in college. (Really... Chloe just screws up any sort of adherance to the original story. I still really wish she had stayed dead.) Princess Leia is Editor-in-Chief. Fine - they've already completely fucked up Perry White's character (one of my FAVORITE characters) for really no apparent reason. But by bringing in the Lana/Clark relationship so late (and eliminating any potential other interest for Lana by dropping all the "good" male characters) they're really in a bind. In the comics Lana was the "boyhood" sweetheart and they grew apart while he was at college. Then hemet Lois, already a star reporter at the planet. Now to get rid of Lana I think they're going to have to kill her off. The timeline is just getting more and more skewed (unless they plan to drop the traditional timeline altogether... which might be fine if they didn't keep making retarded inside references to it). Essentially they're doing now, in the fifth season, what they should have done in the first. Forget the actual plot of the episode. Lex knew that the bats caused vampiric behavior. He "cured" his rescue worker... but he just let the girl go on to college? And if it's just a plain "disease" as they say why the immortality? And to top it all off another "the past 24 hours are so fuzzy" endings which leaves everything exactly as they were. I'm just plain getting very frustrating with it in general... but this episode was just such a steaming pile of crap.
