The nalgeneamaniacs like to make claims about how it's better than other plastic bottles because of many magical properties.
To be fair, plastic bottles do leach nasty things into what ever you drink. One is an estrogen mimic. There was a suit brought against the plastics industry by a guy complaining about his manboobs.
