Indentured servants were counted as whole people as there was the idea that 
they were working towards their freedom. Slaves of course were not.

But yes, there were slaves of all races, the majority were African, there were 
several from central and south America. Few native American slaves existed as 
they were a lot harder to catch if they ran away. There were some white slaves, 
it wasn't very prominent, and was also more difficult to prove.
