I'm thinking of getting one as a second monitor to plug into the laptop, which
probably means I'll be using the analog out (instead of digital). Does anyone
have any experience using it in that mode? From what I gather, it won't
support the 1680 x 1050 w/o using the digital cable. If that's the case, what
resolution does it support?

Based on what I'm thinking that the none-widescreen version would work better
for my needs. Maybe I'll just watch for a sale on that one.
