I have Dish with DVR and love it, last year I paid $100 to upgrade my receiver. Now I only pay $5 rental because one box covers two TVs. The reason I upgraded was now it has name recognition so I put in a show and tell it all new. Then when a new season starts I see the shows showing up. It's also great for when they change the times for a show. Never tried DirectTv.
