Now you are asking me to psychoanalyze Powell? I don't know all of his
motivations and I don' t have a lot in common with him. But you can question
someone's version of events without calling him a liar. I question yours all
the time ;)
 One thing I wasn't sure of as I read that piece was timing. I am thinking
that that was just after he resigned, in which case he may have been
concerned about a loss of face if he appeared to have been ineffectual or
left out of the loop. Not sure.
