IT workers dubbed 'worst dressed' By Louisa Hearn November 17, 2005 - 2:35PM Related coverage More than 150 tech professionals attended a corporate fashion show in Sydney last night as organizers officially dubbed the industry "the worst dressed" in Australia. Short sleeved shirts, man-made fibers and the wrong colored socks were some of the most common fashion faux-pas cited by corporate stylist, Melanie Moss, who hosted the event. "Because the majority of IT people are not in front of customers all the time, they tend to slack off," she said. ..... Awesome! We're the worst-dressed! I gotta comment about this woman, though: Ms Moss believes money should be no object when it comes to dressing well. "This is not only about wearing suits, just a good quality shirt with a nice print and smart slacks is often enough as long as everything co-ordinates." Does anyone really call them "slacks" anymore? And "smart"? WTF is that? I personally came to work today in jeans, a long sleeve shirt with a T-shirt over it, with my Patriots wooly hat. I guess I'm one of the ppl they're talking about in the article. Too bad, I'm comfortable, and a comfortable employee is a productive one, I say!
