This is specifically made for fuel use. This was B100, or 100% Biodiesel, and was priced right about the same as diesel, $2.54. As diesel drops, I don't know how the BD price will flow.
I'm not sure about the fuel economy yet. I'll need to run a few tanks first. I've been driving this one pretty hard to see how it reacts. One of the best things so far is the absence of the black cloud when you tromp on the gas. There's still a cloud, but it's nowhere near as dense and it's gray now and dissipates quickly. Also, the engine seems to run smoother without as much 'diesel knock'.
