Jason's Sweet Example of T9 cause I just learned it recently: So to type on a phone without T9, each number has like 3 letters assigned to it, for example, 4 has 'ghi'. To make a g, you hit 4 once. To make an h, you hit 4 twice quickly, and 3 times for an i. The system works fine except for when you want to type, for example, the string 'igh', and you have to push 4 3 times quickly, then pause for a bit, then push it once, and pause, then push it twice quickly.
T9 fixes it by only having to push each number once, no matter what letter you want from it. Example, I want to type 'carpet'. I push - Phone Displays ------------------------- 2 - a 2 - cc 7 - car 7 - cars 3 - barre 8 - carpet if there was another word that could be formed using the same keys in order, and that word was more likely, it would show up. there is a 'next' button for when you complete a word, if it's not the word you want. it will cycle through all possible words until you find the one you wanted. text away!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:183593 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
