I'd call GnR has been's :) I think GnR falls under glam, based on the "Live
like a suicide" ep and "Appetite for Destruction" I hated everything they
did afterward.

Def Leppard is NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) their first album
came out in 1980 and it was most defiantly metal in the British sense of the
word.

I admit, i listened to this stuff when it was popular (i was 14, what can i
say).....

So where do we classify bands like Def Leppard or Guns n' Roses.....? Def
predated a lot of this glam stuff...but they put out some glammy videos in
the 80's. GnR doesn't really seem to fit the glam definition, but they are
usually spoken in the same breath.

I think i'd call GnR and Def "rock"......with an asterisk: "* - Caution,
band went a bit glammy in the late 80's"
