Hey all, Some of you noted having problems with getting current extensions to work with Firefox.
What I did to fix all my extensions was to edit the install.rdf file contained in the .xpi extension file. If you did a direct Install into firefox you may not be able to find these files. Go to the homepage for the extensions and instead Download the .xpi file to your hard disk. Open the file using 7-zip or WinRar or other and edit the install.rdf file contained in the compressed .xpi. Look for the line reading <em:maxVersion>1.5+</em:maxVersion> or similar and change it to 2.5 for example. Save the new .rdf back into the .xpi file (I just drag the new .rdf from Explorer and drop it onto the open WinRar window). Now right click the file and select Open With > Firefox. Firefox should find and update the plugin and when you restart Firefox, it should register as being valid. If the plugin actually uses old feature of Firefox in a way not compatible with the new version then you really do have to wait for an update or find a similar plugin. Mine were quite simple, and so they all worked once I upped the max version variable. Hope this helps someone :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:185312 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
