I travel every week and the security is a joke.  All they are doing is
allowing items that make it through anyway.

I made it back from MAX (just one example) with a corkscrew and three
lighters in my laptop bag.  I think you could get a gun through pretty
easily if you knew how to hide it.

That explains a lot.

I accidentally took a pocket knife to Florida last week in my
backpack. When I was reorganizing my stuff this week, I found the
swiss army knife, and realized I had it with me on the plane. I left
it in Florida this morning so as not to take it back through security.

My mother got flagged for extra security this morning, and triggered a
pretty active response. They found traces of glycerin on her pack with
the chemical wipe. They were all nervous until they found the Burt's
Bees cutical tin.
