I travel every week and the security is a joke. All they are doing is allowing items that make it through anyway.
I made it back from MAX (just one example) with a corkscrew and three lighters in my laptop bag. I left it in Florida this morning so as not to take it back through security. My mother got flagged for extra security this morning, and triggered a pretty active response. They found traces of glycerin on her pack with the chemical wipe. They were all nervous until they found the Burt's Bees cutical tin.
