According to CNN (Bill posted the same story, different service) the man 
claimed to actually have a bomb in his carry-on, was told repeatedly to 
stop walking and put the bag down, and was finally shot while reaching 
into his carry-on.

So, no, it wasn't just the word "bomb" -- it was behavior that I would 
have found threatening, too.
