The whole question of if he was on the plane of not is somewhat
irrelevant - no?  I don't think it matters where someone is if they
yell they have a bomb and reach into their bag after being told by law
enforcement to get on the ground.  I think the same would happen in a
mall, plane, bank, school, or any public space.

On the other hand, if he said something like "What?  It's not like I
have a bomb in here!"  Then reached into his bag, that could be a
different story...
