For kids that age you might go with video game soundtrack material.
The soundtracks to many popular games ("Halo", "Grand Theft Auto", "Splinter
Cell", and many, many "Final Fantasy" collections among others) are
available on Amazon.com.
The Minibosses (http://minibosses.com/), a game-inspired band, have a new
album out. I would pretty much guarantee that they've not played on the
radio. ;^)
It may not be "cool" for kids but I've not been able to stop listening to
the Katamari Damacy soundtrack since I got it.
