He was a man of conviction who also knew he was dealing with a moral enemy (at least moral enough to deal with). If he was dealing with the Germans of the time he would have been ground under tank treads. Pacifism ONLY works when both sides respect it. In Iran, there is no respect for it. The 'insurgents' of Iraq are attacking non-combatants (which makes them terrorists, not insurgents) and show no respect for it. The terrorists of Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, etc. show no respect for it. Pacifism is a word foreign to the middle east. I hate to make a general statement but Arab culture respects strength, not weakness. Pacifism is seen as weakness and makes on ripe for attack in that area of the world.
> Then you have no clue. Was Ghandi a coward? How about Martin Luther > King? It takes a hellof a lot more courage to be a pacifist than you > realize. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:188531 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
