We use a glass pitcher to much the same effect, also we boil water in
a kettle (takes a little longer).

Boil a quart and a half/two quarts of water, pour over four Irish
Breakfast tea bags (we tie the ends of the strings around a chopsick
that then rests on the mouth of the jar) let steep for five-ten
minutes, pull out the bags and fill pitcher with filtered water to
cool...

easy-peasy...
