It makes It makes total sense to me. The mega-churches are just businesses. Most businesses are closed for the holidays. Ergo.....
Really, I've been in these mega churches before and that is the feeling I get from them. I feel they're a lot less about faith and more about the business aspect or even the "Hey, I belong to church X" kinda group mentality. The churches I enjoyed the most growing up were the smaller more personal ones. /subject change.... This weekend I was at a christmas party and one of the guests was talking about his job. He worked for a fundraising organization that only did work for faith-based and/or church organizations. Then he went on to tell us about the holiday parties they had thrown for the employees. At one, they took the employees to a hotel and served them a "5-star dinner". At the other party at Southfork ranch, they handed out envelopes of cash anywhere from $10 to $1000. There were some other things they did, but I can't recall exactly what they were. It just struck me as ironic that a fundraising venture would be extravagant like this.
