What's interesting about that is that while Serenity only made $10mil in it's opening weekend, it was top in the box office, handily beating out the other new releases. And because of that, it's being panned as a failure.
Now compare that to Pride and Prejudice which got a mere $2.8 mil on opening weekend but has been hailed as a wonderful film and a success. It's funny world. Of course, I'm sure that Serenity cost more to make in sfx alone.
