I agree with you about taking a pit-stop to soak up the surroundings. We are taking a digital camera with us for all types of photo opportunities and some just to document our trip and have something later in life to reflect back on.
My father and family would go camping but we never really did a Father-son trip. My step-son (Victor) is 12 who is going with me this trip But my actual son who will be 15 in January, will be going on the 4 day backpacking trip and then hopefully he will enjoy it as much as I do and go to Colorado with me. My son (Brandon) enjoys camping and having 1-on-1 time with me cause Well we act like kids and just laugh joke and have fun. I can not wait until the 4 day trip comes up.
