::shrug:: plenty of highways aren't. But in the case of Kansas I suspect that it's the entire state, not just I-70. I mean... I-70 west of Denver is downright scary. That road, is it 1-15, that goes into Idaho from Utah, that's an interstate... so is the highway (84?) that runs along the Columbia River Gorge, and I-5 through Grants Pass is pretty dramatic too. Not to mention Tijeras Pass right here in my backyard.
