Um, I'd say the quickness of the act. Mice are pestilent disgusting animals, IMO, but they still don't deserve torture.
Which would you rather have done to you, Ahh-nold snapping your nexk, or being thrown into a burning leaf pile? BTW, leaf piles aren't exactly the hottest files around, which means prolonging the ordeal even further.
