I've got a recumbent, and I used to ride it for 1-1/2 hours (interval)
during the winter, but I just can't get on it anymore. I wanted to
get an upright, but I have a trainer for my bike, and ... that sucks.

So then I looked at ellipticals because running can give me shin
splints and knee problems and I was almost going to buy an Octane, but
then I found the total body arc trainer (cybex) and man do I love that
thing.

It's spendy (you can still find demos on the iNet cheap!), but it's
awesome. I really love it and I hate machines - I like being outside.
But it's just got a cool motion and you can get a good arm workout
too.

Now, however, I'm only using it 10-20 minutes per day (want to avoid
the catabolic effect) and focusing on the weights.
