In defense of Ikea, we bought our bedroom set there recently, and it's
really been great. The prices were completely great, and so far it's
still standing :-) We got a bedframe and two nightstands. It's not
very scandinavian looking... at all, really.*
*(http://tinyurl.com/e4mpz) Very similar to some stuff we'd seen
elsewhere, but cheaper (and made of particle board, but I don't really
care).

Anyway, you definitely have to be careful with what you get there - some
of the stuff is really ugly and looks poorly made. Other things seem to
be a pretty good bargain for the style. I have heard, though, that once
you put Ikea stuff together, you really shouldn't take it apart, because
it will never be the same.
