I'm sure there are some software apps you can buy, but if it were me, I
would purchase XP Pro for other features in addition to Remote Desktop.

If you have a router on your home network, and you should if you don't,
you need to open the Remote Desktop port to allow traffic to enter your
home network.

I had a Win2k3 server running at home until a lightning storm took it
out of commission. It had Remote Desktop enabled and was a perfect test
box to see how our network appeared "from the outside".

It was fun to remote into my home server, then remote into my work PC,
then remote back into my home server, again. Talk about going dizzy.
It worked, but it was slow. ;^)

Subject: RDP

So I have Windows XP Home on a machine at home that I want to RDP into.
I'm aware that the RDP host is only available on XP Professional... and
I'm thinking the only option is to buy the XP Professional Upgrade.

What I'm wondering is... is there any third party 'Host' software that
you can connect to with the Microsoft RDP client?

I don't mind having to purchase something... just wondering if the XP
Professional Upgrade is what I should be/have to be looking at.
