Some of the better firmware packages for LinkSys and D-Link routers have some pretty capable logging features. They're somewhat limited by the amount of writable RAM in the routers however (but still capable of logging several days of traffic at least). I use Talisman on my LinkSys router and love it - it's a bit of a pain in the ass to set up initially (to actually apply the firmware) but it has more features than I'll ever find use for. It has a very feature-rich Access Restriction capabilities: you can restrict any client on the Lan to bandwidth restrictions, time restrictions (only allow access from when to when), Day restrictions (only allow access on certain days of the week), Ports (which would let you control which applications can be used) and much more. You can even restrict access only to specific URLs or from certain keywords.
