If I'm understanding Dana, she's saying that:

1.) Society owes citizens health care,
2.) Due to  #1, any business that doesn't cover health care costs tax
payers because
3.) When gov't provides businesses incentives and those businesses
don't pay living wages or health care costs, those costs then fall on
the taxpayer

Therefore, she might argue, incentives to "scrooge" businesses should be killed.

To your point, I suspect that while you want equal protection, you
wouldn't favor that equality being forced benefits compensation such
as France does.
