A lot of people are rooting for the Steelers because of Jerome Bettis and Bill Cowher. Not to mention Roethlisberger, who is the anti-Plummer: a bearded hippie looking dude who's actually humble and likeable. > > dunno. don't really follow football (or any other sports for that > matter). I do like that Seattle has finally managed to field a > post-season professional sports team that doesn't choke and collapse > under its own weight. Does that make me a fair-weather fan? okay. Yes, it does, but there's nothing wrong with being a fair-weather fan as long as you admit it. > > There's also the "that wasn't really a good game" argument: > last week it was Washington not playing their best. Seattle won > because the Redskins didn't have their game faces on. > > whatever. as I said to Scott last week "would, coulda, shoulda... dinna" +1 > > > I got to the game late yesterday, was painting instead. You mean painting your face for the game???? > One of the > comments that was made to me about the game was that the announcers > had lots of things to say about Carolina and whatnot, the possibility > of a rally was constantly there, etc., but towards the end of the game > when it clear that the Panthers were the recipients of their own ass > being handed to them, they started struggling for things to say about > the Seahawks, almost like they had been so sure that they would fold > under the pressure of the final playoff game that they didn't bother > to prepare. > > Now what, I ask you, is up with that? I'll tell you what's up with that: precedent. Seattle's folded in every other big playoff situation under Holmgren. Chances were good they were going to do it again. They didn't. In fact, they played awesome, especially their defense. I think they have a good chance versus Pitt. Though....right now...the Steelers seem like a team of destiny. 3 playoff wins in a row on the road? Including wins over the #1, #2, and #3 ranked teams in the AFC? Yikes. Go Steelers. And i'm rooting for them because i've always liked the brand of football they play. Not so for the Seahawks...who've been a bastion of wasted talent the last 10 years. (Though i do really like Hasselback, who keeps proving his critics wrong). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:193822 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
