Worked like a charm for me. Gave her my Celtic cross necklace with Connemara marble inlay (a very important thing to me, then and now - but for different reasons, then and now :-). just celebrated 10 years together (last October) and finally we were able to afford not just "a" ring, but the ring she wants/wanted (it has a metric crap-load of smaller diamonds on it), she doesn't like doorknobs.
