When I was in So Cal I had Kaiser KaiserPermanente.org. Its available in No. Cal as well. They have their own doctors, their own hospitals. Everything is in house. Which is good and bad. Its harder to see a specialist outside their network (tho it is possible) and when its done inside the network, if a doctor orders it, its done. No hoping insurance approves it.
When I was there, it was one of the higher rated HMO's around (that was 4 years ago).
