I find myself defending people I don't particularly like or understand here,
but let me play devil's advocate a moment... is it possible that some of what
you describe is due to media bias? Do we see news reports of Iraqi casualties,
for example? Do you really think there aren't any? Suppose a similar process is
going on in Iraq (or Palestine, or Iran...)

Let me say that I am not seeing these people as victims, as they have
unquestionably done plenty of wrong. I am just positing that perhaps they think
they are justified. Sorta like Terry Pratchett's Jingo.

And to whoever pointed this out, yes, it is true that Arab!=Muslim, but it is
the Middle East not Africa or Sri Lanka that we are discussing here, yes?

>Maybe we should wonder why and what can be done to change it. Hamas doesn't
>help. Hezbollah doesn't help. Iran doesn't help. Al Qaeda doesn't help.
>Hearing about attacks on innocents of every religion (especially other
>Muslims) almost every day done by 'insurgents' in Iraq doesn't help. The
>list goes on and on but if there are a lot of anti-Arab memes going around,
>maybe the Arabs themselves should ask why and what they can do about it.
>How many Arabs are against Iran's push for nuclear weapons? How many are
>protesting it? How many are against Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. The answer is
>really small in the against and almost nil in the protest. This doesn't help
>the memes. What does the world see? Protests and boycotts against a cartoon.
>None against killers of innocents but lots over a picture. What memes is
>that supposed to breed?
