I've bought from Napster, Walmart and MSN Music through Windows Media
Player.

The user experience in MSN Music (through Windows Media Player) is
excellent. However if he doesn't use WMP then it's going to drive him
crazy.

But over all it's my preference. The interface is clean and there's lot's
of information about the music and similar stuff (good if you're into niche
things). They have most things I've looked for (although everybody is still
a little hit and miss).

I'm also an MSN radio subscriber and like that a lot as well.

Napster is good but tries to do a little too much in WMP (it has its own
download area and logs, messenger service, etc). It's moving towards a
subscription model which could be nice - a monthly fee let's you download
anything you want to your portable and play anything you like as much as you
like.

Walmart is... well, Walmart. It's okay, not great, and slightly cheaper.

I'm not a Christian so I've no idea on that score. All of them allow you to
browse before you buy however.

To my knowledge none of them have specific parental controls or anything
(they all display the warnings however).
