Mostly because it's impossible to repeat the experiment. :-) Seriously? There are few if any cosmologists (not to be confused with cosmetologists) who question the basic premises. There are questions involving things like th initial expansion quandary, but there have been recent proposals that tackle that and dark matter quite efficiently.
