Phrases Dad used that I try to avoid: As long as you live under my roof, you'll follow my rules.
This is going to hurt me more than its going to hurt you. When you're 17 I'm taking you down to the Marine Corps recruiter and enlisting you in the Marines. When you think its so bad here that life somewhere else will be better don't let the door hit you in the ass. When you leave, that's it your not coming back. You'll never have to run away, you're welcome to leave anytime, just remember there's no turning back. One thing you'll never have to worry about is someone hitting you, nobody will every hit you as hard as I have. ******************************************************************************************************************************* Phrases that dad used that I have either used or tried lived by: One thing you'll never have to worry about is someone hitting you, nobody will every hit you as hard as I have. (for the most part he was right, only one other person ever broke my nose. only two others gave me a black eye. Nobody else broke my arm, and nobody else sent me to the hospital or put my head through a wall) I pretty much never feared standing up for myself or taking someone else on if that is what it came to regardless of their size. If you are unsure of what to do in a situation think of what you would do if I was standing there watching. If you wouldn't do it in front of me then you probably shouldn't be doing it. (good advice long before the now common WWJD) Don't be affraid to stand up for yourself. Stand up for those who are being treated unjustly or are unable to stand up for themselves. Just because you are my kid doesn't mean you are innocent or an angel. It has to be somebody's kid and I am not beyond realizing that it could have been you. Family = sticking together, helping each other, and forgiving and it goes both ways. No matter how bad I screwed up dad had my back, especially in regards to others, school officials etc... However, that didn't mean I wasn't going to get my ass kicked when I got home. It just meant that he protected me from others and dealt out justice in private. After a morning of throwing eggs rather than going to school, the police peiced my license plate together after multiple complaints. I lived near the county line. They were looking for use in three counties. Dad worked for the county we lived in. He got a call and left work to look for me. He found me before the police did. He took my friends names, told them to talk to their parents before he did and then he brought me to the police deaprtment and turned me in. The officer at the desk down played the incident saying that it was no big he threw eggs and tomotos as a kid. My dad called him a fucking idiot and reached over the desk and grabbed him, yelling at him that if it was important enough to call him at work then it god damn well was a big deal. The chief came out settled things down apologized and made the desk officer apologize. He then turned me over to another officer who brought me into an intergation room with my dad. One of the people in my car had hit a lady in the back with an egg and wanted to file cahrges for assualt with a weapon. I told the officer I didn't throw the egg, I was driving. The officer wanted me to give up the names of the others in my car. I looked at dad and he said that was my choice. I didn't have to say anything. The officer tried getting nasty with me and my dad stepped in and told him that I was not required to give up the names of my friends or give him any other info. They couldn't prove who through the eggs so I walked. But dad kicked my ass when we got home that day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:196574 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
