I found it almost the reverse. The name made it approachable but once you were there, the use of the name rather than getting to the point was a hindrance. The simple idea that duck typing ONLY deals with passing something that exposes a method and that means (in CF) that it only deals with passing CFC references was something that was not clear at all. Even when I was on the phone talking to someone, rather than explain that simple fact he spouted the "walk, talk, act, take a dump like a duck" line. Made things as clear as mud. Judith is writing up an interview with Hal on his session about Duck Typing and I'm writing a few things on Blog of Fusion and Fusion Authority. And I'll even be writing on easy understanding of inheritance and other OO concepts focusing on why anyone would even care. And no freekin ducks. Just clear understanding.
