Carburetor or Fuel Injected? Adjusting the fuel mix on a carb is pretty
easy, there usually a mixture screw. Only make slight adjustments, it's
really easy to lean out the carb to much.

Fuel injectors are a different story, it's very dependant on the type of
injection system, throttle body or direct injection and where the air intake
is located. The mixture adjustment could be anywhere. Prolly best keft to a
mechanic.

My car flunked emissions! I am very surprised as it runs beautifully, very
smoothly, but there it is... this needs to be dealt with of course, since I
am apparently polluting, not to mention that I need to pass in order to
register the car....

So I am hoping that someone here can steer me in the right direction --
perhaps I just need to replace the air filter or something. My CO emission
are almost negligeable - .01 vs a limit of 1.20 but my hydrocarbon emissions
are quite high - 343 vs a limit of 200. At high rpms only. At idle I pass at
124 vs 200. Does that tell anyone anything?

Some random, possibly related data... this is an elderly Honda I have just
put on the road again, and it's been sitting a couple of years. Also, when I
took the test I had just started the car, though this was immediately after
driving it about 15 miles, so it should have been warm.

I am thinking hydrocarbons = fuel mixture? If need be I'll take it to a
mechanic, but it's sooooo a shadetree mecanic car, I hate to do it...if
nobody knows, it's not worth anyone googling; I can do that myself. Just
wondering if anyone knows off the top of their head.

Dana
