Another option to consider is a mouth guard. I've had a cpap machine
for about 3 years, but really haven't used it for the past 9 months
since I've started using a mouth guard. My first mouth guard I bought
of the internet for about $100 and was advertised as an apnea mouth
guard. I was astounded at how well it worked. The second mouth guard
I got was from Academy sports for $20. This worked as well, but it
was a little small and a little rigid. The next mouth guard I got was
from CVS for $20 and was actually a mouth guard to protect you from
grinding your teeth. I still use both of the 1st and the 3rd.

The premise is simple, when you form these mouth guards to yourself,
you set your jaw forward from your normal position 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
This opens your airway and keeps the soft tissue from vibrating while
sleeping.

I do have a slight overbite....my lower jaw sets in a little from the
upper, so I don't know if this only works for people with an overbite
