Believe in the same God is a relative thing. The Jews say leave us alone to worship. The Christians say you have to worship our way to get into heaven but we don't force you to convert anymore The Muslims say you have to worship our way or obey our laws and if you don't the extremists in our ranks will kill you. The fact that Christianity came from Judaism means that for Christianity to be valid, it must replace Judaism in all ways, not just their scriptures. This is why there are still missionaries sent to Jews to this very day. Islam isn't a 'copy and replace' of Judaism, it's an 'absorb Jewish lore and replace' which means as with Christianity, it has to replace Judaism. It gives respect to Judaism and Christianity by saying that they will be spared the sword if they debase themselves and pay a servitude tax. Otherwise.... To say they're of the same family is to say that the family has two warring brothers who both want the father dead or in a retirement home.
As for that Jihad mention, it's a standard which hides the whole story. Jihad is NOT only a personal struggle and anyone saying that is lying to you. There are many levels to Jihad and the killing of infidels is one of the levels. But saying that only makes Islam look 'bad' so they don't mention it. 20 million Muslims are practicing in America and Islam is a fast growing religion because there is at least one foreign government pushing hundreds of millions of dollars into 'converting' people to it. And not a nice version of it. Sorry, but Islam does NOT see Jesus as the spiritual son of God.
