I don't know of anyone minding them owning businesses in the US. Control of our ports (identified repeatedly as our most vulnerable avenue for terrorist action) is another thing.
I am not saying even that should not happen. But I think it needs a little more thought and discussion than this seems to have gotten. How safe would you feel if a company owned by an Arab goverenment (or Cuba, or China) ran the loading and unloading of cargo into commercial airplanes? Controlled and made all of the vaccines in the US? Managed and moved nuclear wastes by train in the US? To me, this kind of thing needs a level of study above and beyond the norm. Another comparison. Do you think the US companies checking security for Iraq contractors doing work on Iraqi projects are exactly as strict as they would be at their headquarters in Texas? I don't. When it's your home, you care just a little more. On 2/22/06, Zaphod Beeblebrox <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > If we're selling them f-16's, then that's not the only weaponry we're > selling them.
