The situation is totally opaque to us. Who really bombed the Golden Dome? Was it Sunnis? Al Qaeda? Syrians? Iranian agents? They apparently have some guys in custody, but who knows if they are the guys who carried out the original bombing. It doesn't make sense for the Sunnis to have done it, because they are outnumbered and outgunned and will get slaughtered if there is an all-out civil war.
My inclination is to blame it on Al Qaeda, but beyond creating general mayhem I don't see how they benefit. Syria stands to gain the most from a civil war, and Iran stands to gain if you assume that the outcome will be sectarian genocide/"cleansing" of Sunni areas by outraged Shiites.
