That can't be just a New England thing. "Guns" are slang for your arms, specifically biceps, and usually imply significant bicep development.
"I'll give you a gun show" is often the sentence preceding a flexing of the arms, usually by someone clad in a wife-beater and baggy jeans. So here you have a guy next to the sign pointing to a "Gun Show" giving you a gun show. You know he made his friends stop the car, and ran out there to pose. That is friggin hilarious.
