SVHS is about 400
so is Hi-8.

BTW just got a new VCR delivered yesterday -
a JVC S7800 with "SVHS ET" - does SVHS resolution
on high-quality regular VHS tapes,
not the more expensive hard-to-find SVHS tapes.
But the tapes would only play back on JVC-brand VCR's
if recorded in that higher quality mode.
(Can be turned on and off if you wanted to make
tapes to share with others.)
Including time-base correction to remove "jitters" it was only $199.

Whoever made the post about "adult responsibility" and spending, you were
too late for me :-)

Just curious - you know offhand what SVHS can do?
