I can barely justify travelling the 15 minutes from my house to Kauffman
Stadium to watch the Royals play :)

Remember Mike Maroth? He was a rookie starting pitcher on the 2003 Detroit
Tigers, a team that lost 117 games, or something like that. That year, he
lost over 20 games. All year, the organization said that he was their most
promising young pitcher, and that his win loss record was INDICATIVE of
that. THe thinking was he was going deep enough into tight games to figure
in the decision, but his team just wasn't good enough to pull out the win.
The next year he won 14 games, on an equally crappy Detroit team.

This Greinke kid....for 5 innings he would be unhittable, then he'd have one
bad inning where he'd give up 3 or 4 runs (usually on one bad pitch for a 3
run dinger)....and that was the game. Our offense couldn't overcome that one
inning. We'd lose 4-2.

But that seems to be besides the point anymore...like i said, he's left
spring training and returned home to his Mommy. The kid's a headcase.
