And at the moment I find myself adrift again, looking for another full-time gig, so it's not beyond the pale that I might find myself a job in Toronto. We're in northern VA right now. I submitted my resume to a Canadian airline once but never heard back. Plus some of the politico's there are talking about abolishing the legal institution of marriage, which may take a long time but would be a way-cool step in the right direction (note the distinction between abolishing the legal institution and abolishing the act). I've also read that there's a thriving polyamorous movement in Canada -- also very cool since Tiff and I are both poly and there's not an active poly culture in Charlottesville, although it's a little weird that right now my reference for that was an article about the plans to abolish marriage laws. :) Tiff and I have been giving some serious consideration to New Hampshire also to be part of the Free State Project (http://www.freestateproject.org). Which is actually what prompted me to contact Ray Champagne suddenly, 'cause I saw a job listing for his company, which would be cool 'cause I like Ray too (shut up, it's not like that). :) Unfortunately they'd just hired somebody the day I contacted him, so I guess that's creation's way of telling me to be patient. :) I just contacted Dave Watts at Fig Leaf to assess their interest also -- apparently he doesn't do any of the hiring, so I should hear back from Dave Gallerizzo some time next week. (I'm guessing it's pronounced Guy-er-eet-so.) Hopefully I'll have medical insurance again once I find a place. The last few months have been semi-harsh. I started looking for a new job before November because I felt like I really needed more salary (still do) and wound up in a place where it turned out I had to take a pay cut to work there because of taxes (VA is the first place I've lived with a state income tax)... and the insurance thing was just on top of that and some other issues. It wasn't that they weren't going to provide insurance but that they didn't have a policy yet, so I was just waiting for it but of course, as soon as you're between insurance carriers is precisely when you get sick. :) > Seriously though, that sucks. Hope it gets better. Thanks. I'll still be speaking at cf.Objective next weekend. :) s. isaac dealey 434.293.6201 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:198881 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
